Women's MMA

Id never even heard of Women's MMA until late on the evening of March 3rd 2012 when the results of a Ladies MMA Title fight showed up on the front page of YAHOO NEWS...Judging by the title of the article, I suspect it only got front page "air" time because of the challenger (Ronda Rousey) US Olympic Bronze Medalist in Judo at the Olympics in Greece...and holder of many titles in various Judo competitions all over the planet. I mean this wasnt the first TITLE FIGHT in women's MMA history, but it was the first time I had seen the results on the front page of a major news service. The defending Champion, Meisha Tate (who was defeated at 4:27 of first round via a gruesome ARMBAR) has repeatedly stated her opinion that Rousey was "bad" for the sport. But, Im pretty sure that if Tate had won her title defense, I still wouldnt know that STRIKEFORCE women's MMA division even existed.  So..sorry Ms Tate...but Rowdy Ronda Rousey is great for the sport, and will likely improve your payouts in the future. Personally I hope you to can "bury the hatchet" and be "friends" because both of you, along with Sarah Kaufman  are fantastic for Women's MMA...All 3 of these Ladies are first of all, "Ladies". Each is intelligent, well spoken and attractive. And all 3 bring a compelling style to the ring, along with amazing intensity and drive to be their out and out best every time they walk into a ring or cage.

With the next big fight in Women's MMA undoubtedly being Rousey v Kaufman here is a parting comment on that contest....

Support Women's MMA...these ladies put on a top notch fight every time...Rousey v Kaufman...that could be an ugly fight...for either lady...but I Think Rousey has much more to be concerned about.. dont think there is any chance of Kaufman getting seriously hurt in that fight, win or lose(cause if Rousey armBars her, she will have the sense to tap out)(I think)(I hope), but Rousey, win or loose, that pretty face might not be so pretty afterwards.

Take care all...
